I know neutrals can often make people think of drab boring clothes, so typical of the fall/winter season. Your neutrals for the season don't have to be within the limits of black and gray though. I made some great finds on staple pieces for my wardrobe that add a little something extra to my closet without being caught in the cliche dark color palette of the colder seasons!
Blush can be a perfect neutral to start adding to your wardrobe to show a little color! Personally it is one of my favorites and goes with black, brown, or grey! I got this new cowl neck blush sweater from The Black Market here in Lexington and it has been the perfect piece to throw on with leggings and slides or to pair with jeans and booties. Either style makes it a great outfit for a coffee and shopping date! I rock my Madewell jeans with like everything because I love this denim wash, but unfortunately I got them 3 years ago so I put a link to another pair that are similar that I think would work perfectly too!
These booties are another great way to stray from your normal neutrals and venture into something a little more fun such as this Taupe color! I just picked them up from Urban Outfitters this weekend and I'm obsessed. Good news is they are now ON SALE for only $59.00, and I totally recommend snagging a pair.
This outfit is the perfect example of mix matching neutrals in a fun way that allows you to add color to your fall wardrobe for a daytime outfit!
Switching now from blush to cream to show my next favorite neutral to mix up in my fall wardrobe! I kept the boots and jeans and purse and totally created a new outfit by adding a cream blouse, camel hat, and this long fur vest! I got the vest this weekend from Monkee's of Lexington and I am soooo in love with it. It is definitely going to be a season staple for me from day to night! Unfortunately there is no website so I included a link with a vest (on sale) at Guess that would work so well for the same styled outfit!
The layering neutrals in this look allow my outfit to still have a pop to it without being obnoxious and still allowing it to mesh with the mood of season.
Accessories are just as important as the apparel of your outfit. I set my outfit tone by layering necklaces, adding big earrings and throwing a floppy hat for a finishing touch to my boho chic look. I even kept my accessories in a neutral palette while still letting them make a statement! The camel colored felt hat is one of my favorite accessories to wear to finish a look and I found this one at Altar'd State last year!
The earrings are long, but dainty which allows me to wear other accessories with them without looking too over done. I snagged these this weekend from The Black Market and they were made by a local vendor (total plus)! They have a rose gold tint to them which sets off the cream and camel neutral palette really well.
Finally I took some old necklaces and started putting them on to add length that complements the long vest and long earrings and Voila! I have an all-neautral look with fun accessories that don't over do it.
Neutrals and tonal looks may embody a minimalistic look, but that doesn't mean you have to play it safe and simple. Your wardrobe doesn't have to consist of white, black, and gray. Mix it up with warm tones like cream and blush to make a neutral outfit pop a little more this season!
