With the unseasonably warm weather making a statement of its own this season, I've had to get creative in finding outfits that are weather and season appropriate! I've posted a couple "Outfits of the Day" on my Instagram that I've loved, so now I'm going to do a recap of my favorite ones that are perfect for heading in to Spring! When its comes to dressing for spring I always go back to one staple, denim. It is so incredibly versatile and is currently, particularly trendy!Having a go-to denim on denim outfit like the one I have featured is a great spring look for the varying temperatures and weather leading in to spring. This is also an awesome transitional look that still incorporates a few winter pieces while keeping it seasonally appropriate with some lighter denim mixed in! I always shy'd away from denim on denim, thinking I would look ridiculous and that "it just isn't for me" but after finding pieces that I loved and felt comfortable in, I fell in love with the style! So this is a great case of "don't knock it until you try it"! Find some great darker wash jeans like the ones I'm wearing that give you a great shape and then a medium to light wash denim jacket like this one (which is on sale)to create contrast with your jeans! Throw on your favorite tee to break up the jacket and jeans (I got mine from the men's section at Target [now on sale] and added the lace-up detail). Shoes are a key piece to tying the look together and adding a stand out pair will bring the monotony of all the denim, up a notch! I threw on these snake skin booties (now on sale for under $100) t that a perfect way to bring in a light contrast and brighten up the outfit! Don't put away that denim jacket yet! I threw on this denim jacket in the evening when the weather turned chillier after a mildly warm day, which can be the norm for the weeks leading up to spring. Besides denim though, another thing to remember when finding a good transitional outfit is detail! By adding a white top that has a floral "see-through" pattern I was able to make this outfit more warm weather appropriate. Things like floral lace, pops of white, and see-through textiles are a perfect way to turn an outfit from winter to spring without plunging straight in to springy trends! I loved wearing this outfit from work to date night because it worked perfectly for either occasion and was so comfortable the whole time! My top is one I've had for a couple years from top shop, but this one is a great alternative and would add the same great detailing to your outfit! This bell skirt (on sale & only a few left!) I can already tell, is going to be one of my favorite pieces for spring! The fun stripe patterns are a great extra detail and are super flattering! Finish with some neutral suede booties like the ones I'm wearing (I literally wear them all of the time) to complete the look! I have no complaints about this unseasonably warm weather we've been having in Kentucky, just an excuse to break out some warm weather favorites early! Like this off-the-shoulder red top that makes me feel like the emoji of the dancing girl in the red dress (sassy n' fun). Unfortunately mine is sold out, but this one is another perfect option! I paired it with my favorite new jeans, the BDG High-waisted Mom Jeans from Urban Outfitters, and some buckle slide sandals for this uber-comfy outfit. For someone who loves neutrals like myself, it can be hard to find pieces that add the essential pop of color to your wardrobe. When it comes to transitioning to warmer months, red is a great way to start adding in more color without having to dive right in with the bright trendy hues for spring! Change is never easy, especially when it comes to switching around your wardrobe for a new season! I always have found the transition to spring to be the trickiest time to dress stylish with unpredictable weather and new seasonal trends I'd love to break out. Having a few staple looks is a perfect way to get through this rough time! Take my advice and take the plunge with all denim, look in to the details with lace, and be playful with a pop of red for some outfits that will make being in-style even easier!
